Mesa Gina exploded around the turn and claimed a Grade B win for owner Bruce De Gilio. I had told Bruce from the time he bought her I was sure she'd make a Grade A dog. She has the speed and drive, just needed to grow up a little
Mesa Budget won another Grade A for owner Joe Wilson. It's a shame she isn't winning those at a track that would allow her mama to count them for the Dam Standings
Mesa Tempo, proving that distance is his game, closed up to 2nd in a C 660 at Palm Beach for owner Jim Jackson of ROCKdale, TX. I called it Thirndale last week. Rock, Thorn, I get so darn confused LOL
and Mesa Gumshoe's owner: send me an email for that request. I don't have your email on this computer
I don't have any of the red brindle pups you asked about right now but do have some of those spotted ones you like
Hi Mark,
I just wanted to let you know that Mesa Budget is one of a kind in my book. I have had the pleasure of watching her run this year at Ebro and she will always be remembered by me as one of the best trying dogs I've ever seen. She might not be Wheeling caliber, but I would take her any day of the week...matter of fact, just give me a boatload of Mesa Budgets and I'd be content for a long, long time. Budget is a very good breaker and very seldom outrun to the turn, she chases hard on the backside, and has a little kick in the deep stretch. Budget is not short at the wire and when she does get beat, it is simply because a faster dog has outrun her to the finish line. I believe she now has 12 wins in 16 starts all in grade A at Ebro. She also ran second twice and has only missed the paysheet twice in her Ebro career. In one of those starts she stepped in a hole as the box opened and almost went to her knees. Budget is indeed a fine greyhound. If she is represenative of what most of your greyhounds are like, I will own some Mesa pups one day myself. As a disclaimer, I am friends with owner and kennel owner Joe Watson. But, he would be the first to tell you that these are the same things that I've been telling him since I first watched her compete a few times. Budget is a jewel and I know you are very proud of her. Thanks for all you do and don't change a thing...your doing a great job with your pups.
Sincerely,
Mike Tice
Greyhound Owner
