Mesa Airline, Lonesome Cry-Mesa Cyndi, owned by Skip Potter and family, smoked 'em in a maiden win. The young gal got loose, dropped her muzzle and won by 7 1/2.
Don't forget that her younger brother and sister (by Tempo Petrocelli) are in training at the Robans farm and are for sale
Mesa Billy, Dodgem-Mesa Cyndi, half brother to Mesa Airline, ran a nice 3rd in Grade B yesterday
Two Mesa bred dogs competed in a maiden race today at Orange Park. Gil's Maryland, Trent Lee-JR's Sable, and Mesa Double Tiger, Odd Tiger-Mesa Jessie, ran 2nd and 3rd in the event.

Please look over the Lonesome Cry-Prima Intrepid pups for sale listing. Her daughter Prima Hemi is still winning 3/8ths races at Wheeling at 4 1/2 years old.
I just don't understand why someone hasn't snatched up this small litter of 4. Heck, it's evenly distributed with 2 and 2.
You're not going to want to race against them, I promise you that.!!

At this time of the year it's always wise to consider the blessings we've had bestowed upon us in life.
There is much for all of to thank HIM for.
Right at the top of my list is you, my Greyhound friends.
For more than 25 years I've been able to enjoy the pleasures of breeding top quality Greyhounds.
I couldn't have done it without my friends the Robans and without you the people that share my love and commitment to this sport.
I'm also grateful to Gay Friedli, Helen Stout, Jimmy Brymer and Shannon Granzow for doing what they do so well.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Mesa Freckles, Craigie Whistler-Tnt Stardust, won her contest by 9.
Mesa Alphabet, Oneco Spirit-Mesa Meadow, won her event at Orange Park. Thanks to Dee Dee Lewis in Steve Gilster's kennel for bringing this one back from a long layoff.

Mesa stuff

Mesa Budget, Oneco Spirit-Mesa Meadow, won another Grade A at NFM for the Bill Ross kennel.
This young gal only turned 2 in August so she has a long way to go in her career. Greyhounds peak at 2 1/2-3 1/2 so watch for this female to continue her winning ways.
Mesa Lost Soul, Flying Penske-Mary Lee Walker, ran a valiant 3/8ths race to come in second in Grade C last night. Her mama has been a very good producer for me so "Hannah" doing this well in competition isn't surprising.
Prima Hemi, the Prima Intrepid (now a Mesa brood) daughter is still going strong at Wheeling. I posted that she won a C 678 yards the other day. Well the August 2004 female came right next back and won her B over the weekend. That's not easy to do for a younger dog at WD but at over 4 years old and still going strong is amazing!

Congrats to Darryl Lummus of CO and his family. He recently purchased one of the Oshkosh Slammer-Dress Up females.
Darryl and his crew are quite familiar with Dress Up daughters. The family owned Hustle and Flow by Lonesome Cry. She excited them every Saturday until the recent incident that ended her career.
Hopefully her younger sister will do as well for the Lummus family.

Sale updates; racing updates

Prima Hemi, Flying Penske-Prima Intrepid, is still going strong at 4 1/2. The Berland bred female just won a Grade C 678yds at Wheeling and is well past her 4th birthday. Not only did she win it but she closed in the stretch to win by a neck. That's a tough competitor. And WD distance races pay a TON!
Prima Intrepid has been a Mesa brood for some time. In fact, I have a litter of 4 Lonesome Cry's for sale out of her that are pushing 9 months old. Nothing much surprises me in this business but the fact that the 4 have not sold does surpise me a bit. Better buy them now 'cause you're not going to want to race against them! Trust me on that.
Mesa Francie. WW Apple Jax-Baby Sister, just won an E race at BM. This gal was a speed merchant when she was younger. I entrusted her care to Cheryl King in BM and glad that I have. The deep track surface in Alabama is not to her liking and she has dropped farther in grade than I expected. That all changed when she got the hang of racing in BM and trounced a field of dogs.
Mesas Inspector, Lonesome Cry-Dress Up, ran a strong 2nd in his last outing at VL. He is one of those overage brothers that I've been crowing about

Congrats to Jim Jackson on his purchase of a litter of 7 Trent Lees out of USS Mardigras. Mardigras has been a good producer and has pups at many of the major slot tracks. These are the best looking pups she has had. In addition to their good looks they are getting some serious raising on the Switzler farm of Ben and Helen Stout. Should make for one heckuva litter for Jim.

Racing updates; the correct way to buy your pup

Mesas Advantage, Lonesome Cry-Dress Up, really ran one heckuva race yesterday at Victoryland. This guy has been a speed burner but seemed a little short near the wire. Many of you realize that some dogs are not really short. They just run out of steam in the stretch against superior competition.
This guy was laying second down the stretch, outdueled his competitor and won surging at the wire by a nose. Really nice effort by this guy in his 12th lifetime start.
Mesa Airline, Lonesome Cry-Mesa Cyndi, owned by Skip Potter, ran a nice race herself last night. She had gotten injured at SP and came back to race at NFM. Her place finish last night was interesting especially considering it was her first outing in Bonita Springs
Mesa Alphabet, Oneco Spirit-Mesa Meadow, ran another nice race last night at Orange Park. Her sister Budget finished 4th in a TA race last night at NFM
Gil's Maryland, Trent Lee-Jr's Sable, grabbed a third place finish in her very first official race today
AHK Mesa Mark, littermate to Gil's Maryland is owned by Jim Jackson. My namesake qualified today at PB in his first ever schooling race.

Most of you realize that if you are buying a Mesa bred dog you can count on a couple of things:
1) you are getting a quality dog
2) unless YOU screw the dog up by selecting the wrong farmer, wrong finisher or wrong kennel chances are really, really good that you will have a moneymaker and an exciting dog to watch race
3) you are getting a very fair price for the quality dog you are going to own
So I guess I'm perplexed as to why some folks think they can pay when they feel like it, not honor their commitments and then not communicate that they can't perform.
Do you think their word means nothing to them? Because that's what I'm starting to think.
You know that sign in some places that says " we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"? That's pretty much my basic motto. There are some guys I won't deal with anymore.
they can't buy a Mesa dog from me. It's a drastic action and I don't take it lightly but I expect people to do what they say they are going to do.
And if they find they are in a bind it's ok. Just let me know.
Ok, now that the ranting is over we can get back to the business of winning races!

Racing updates

Gil's Maryland, Trent Lee-JR's Sable, a Mesa bred dog owned by Dave Cottle and Steve Gilster. Won her first schooling race at OP on Monday. The 67 pound female was never seriously challenged
Gil's Nebraska, litter brother to Maryland, ran a nice 3rd in his first schooler.
And yet another brother, Mesa Guide, owned by Kent La Forme, won his second schooling race at Palm Beach by 3
Flying St. Joe, Kiowa Sweet Trey-Flying Pella(now a Mesa brood) won another Grade A at NFM
Not to be outdone, Mesa Budget, Oneco Spirit-Mesa Meadow, won another Grade A as well at NFM

Mesa racing updates

Mesa Guide, Trent Lee-JR's Sable, owned by Kent La Forme of WV, finished 3rd in his first schooling race at PB yesterday.
Two other dogs owned by Kent ran 4th in their respective races at Raynham in Grade C. Mesa Bethann and Mesa Stardust both sent home a paycheck last week. It's nice to see the girls do well in Boston after starting their careers at Seabrook.

Greyhound Down, Craigie Whistler-Dainty Wag, got jostled and finished at the back of the pack in his schooler at RT. He is owned by Chad Palmsteen

Mesa Catherine, Lonesome Cry-Dress Up, won her Grade B and moved into A for the first time at SOKC.
Catherine also changed hands this weekend and now belong to Mike Tozzo of NYC.

Mesa Adellphia, litter sister to Mesa Guide, qualified at Wheeling by coming in third in her second official schooling race for owner Jim Jackson

Racing and stuff

I've had some emails asking about the price for Greys Tocomastar. She sells bred to Dodgem By Design and is located in Abilene. The asking price is just $1600. Since she has only been bred for a couple of weeks she can be moved anywhere in the country.

Winnie Bones, Seegold Big Red-USS Mardigras, a Mesa bred girl, went box to wire in her first offical maiden race at Southland.
The 63 1/2 pounder had scored a win and an out in her two official schooling races and they put her on. She got out on top, never looked back and won by 3 1/2.
Winnie is owned by Jim and Helen Hambleton of Solomon, KS. She was a replacement for a pup that they had purchased from me
Winnie's littermates Big Bronze and Big Design are both racing at Bluffs Run. Design won a D on the 4th of this month. They've only had a few starts.
Their dam has a nice litter of Trent Lees being raised by Helen Stout (Switzler) for me and they are for sale. See the For Sale section of my website for gender and prices.

Mesa Doubletiger and her sister Mesa Tiger Jessi will both school on Thursday at Orange Park.
I spoke to the trainer yesterday and she likes them both very much. They are two of a 3 pup litter that ran thru the nationals recently.
I said then they didn't race to their potential in Abilene and I meant it. Watch these two move up the ladder.

Mesa Alphabet, Oneco Spirit-Mesa Meadow, ran a nice 3rd in her first time back at OP. Thanks to Dee Dee Lewis and Steve Gilster for bringing this big (68pounds) girl back from injury. Alphabet is for sale

Greys Tocomastar is advertised for sale on the NGA site. She is selling bred to Dodgem. I forgot to give them a price but asking price is only $1600, a true bargain for the smart buyer. Why the low price? I had her sold and the guy never sent the money. I had no intention of breeding her this time. This will be your gain, you have my word on it!

I only have one male pup left for sale in the Heart Rumble-JNB Goodtime Gal litter. If you want the last male you'd better hurry!! I have pictures of the litter if you are interested. I can't get over the size of them. They are amazing

If you see a graded dog with my name as owner she/he is for sale. Buying a graded dog, even if you are a first time onwer, is not difficult at all and I can walk you thru the process and help steer you into the necessary paperwork.

three time stake semi finalist JNB Goodtime Galdelivered 9 little Heart Rumbles yesterday! The 7 males and 2 females are doing well.
Three of the males have been spoken for: Rob and Kathy Cross own two and Al Borelli owns one. The other three males can be purchased for a VERY reasonable price and can stay with the litter if you wish.
Mom and pups are at Gay Friedli's (Yoyo dogs) in KS

Mesa Catherine has been sold to Mike Tozzo of NY. Mike was the kind guy that allowed me to acquire R's First Love and he also owns Mesa Cliff.
Mesa Alicia has been sold to Jessie Walker .
Both dogs will remain with existing kennels
